Responsibilities
As a member of the Financial Systems support team, acts as a liaison between General Accounting, PCN/Medical Group Accounting and Medical Center Computing Services staff and software vendors regarding the General Ledger applications in GEAC GL:M and Lawson. Acts as lead of GEAC upgrades and performs major role in new system implementation and upgrades for Lawson and other systems. Performs other special projects and tasks as directed by Project Manager. This position monitors and resolves on-going production problems and performs business analysis for new programming requests, writes and modifies reports and queries form the General Ledger system using GEAC report software and coordinates all testing of enhancements and modifications. This position also provides primary functional support for the Lawson General Ledger application as well as the Accounts Payable, Asset Management and Activity Management modules of the Lawson ERP system. Other duties include writing and modifying reports and queries from the General Ledger system using Lawson programs, Reportsmith or Crystal Reports.


Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in business or computer science or a minimum of five years experience working with Lawson or similar ERP softeware system is required.
  • Strong systems implementation project management experience
  • Experience using report writer software for packaged applications systems GEAC (McCormack&Dodge, Dun&Bradstreet) experience preferred
  • Experience working with both mainframe and PC applications
  • Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal supervision
  • Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete ongoing tasks in a timely and accurate manner, reflecting relative importance of the tasks
  • Working knowledge of PC software, such as word-processing, database, spreadsheet and Windows environment
  • Working knowledge of accounting practices and terminology in a hospital/university environment; knowledge of terminology used in the computer industry
  • Skill in writing, using correct spelling, punctuation and grammar, procedure manuals and routine business correspondence
  • Skill in interacting diplomatically with all levels of users -- from staff to management -- to ascertain and meet computer needs
  • Strong customer service orientation required in dealing with all users of systems.
